Incident packed night in Champions League play-offs

It was an incident packed night in the Champions League play-off rounds last night.

Real Madrid’s 1-0 win win at Benfica was overshadowed by an alleged incident involving Vinicius Junior.

The match was halted for around ten minutes after the Brazilian forward complained to the referee following an exchange with Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni, prompting the activation of FIFA’s anti-racism protocol.

The player denies making any kind of racist remark.

Benfica boss Jose Mourinho was shown a red card for a heated exchange with the referee.

Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold has called the scenes in their 1-nil Champions League win at Benfica a "disgrace to football".
