Shane Curran has stepped down as manager of the Carlow senior football team, just seven games into his tenure.
The St Brigid's clubman took on the role last August, but the team could only manage three victories in their Allianz League Division 4 campaign this season.
In a statement, the county board stated that his resignation was due to "player-related issues, which he felt were beyond the control of the management team."
Carlow will face Meath in the Leinster Championship preliminary round on Sunday week.
