The Carlow footballers have released a statement following the departure of manager Shane Curran earlier this week.
The St. Brigid's clubman left the role after just seven games in charge, citing "player-related issues" after a few members of the panel remained in London following a league match last weekend.
In their statement, the players called the alleged reasons "unfair and misleading", claiming they cannot be used to "deflect from other issues."
Carlow begin their Leinster football championship campaign with a preliminary-round clash with Meath next weekend.
