Armagh's All Ireland Football title defence remains on track this morning.

Despite a one point loss to Galway, Kieran McGeeney's men topped their group and go straight into the quarter finals.

Galway's win sent them into the preliminary quarter finals along with Dublin while Derry's summer is over.

Roscommon are also out after a 2 point loss to Cork yesterday.

Cork will join neighbours Kerry in the prelims after a 9 point loss for the Kingdom to table toppers Meath yesterday.

Round 3 action continues this afternoon.

It's finely balanced in Group 1 where all four teams can both progress and be eliminated.

Donegal and Mayo face off at Dr Hyde Park from 4pm while at the same time Tyrone come up against Cavan at Brewster Park.

Before that, top spot in Group 3 is up for grabs in the game between Monaghan and Down.

Throw in at the Athletic Grounds is at 2pm.

Also at 2pm is the meeting of Louth and Clare in a loser goes home clash.

The semi final lineup for the Tailteann Cup will be decided this afternoon.

Wicklow and Westmeath meet for a quarter final clash in Aughrim at 1:15pm.

That's following by Limerick's home tie against Wexford from 3:45pm.

Fermanagh and Kildare booked their semi final spots yesterday with wins over Sligo and Offaly respectively.
