An Ghaeltacht were victorious in the Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Football Championship final.




They’ve beaten Fossa in the decider at Austin Stack Park, Tralee by 19 points to 1-11.
Conor Ó Corrduibh and Ruaidhrí Ó Beagalaoich pointed early for An Ghaeltacht, Emmet O'Shea then halving the deficit. On a windy day, with conditions favouring An Ghaeltacht in the first half, David Clifford equalised for Fossa in the 10th minute. 1 minute later An Ghaeltacht registered a two pointer through Brian Ó Beagalaoich. The same man repeated the trick in the 16th minute to put the West Kerry outfit 4 clear at 6 points to 2. David Clifford pointed to bring Fossa within 3 but another An Ghaeltacht 2 pointer had them 5 to the good. Éanna O Conchúir it was who hit this one. Brian Ó Beagalaoich added his third 2 pointer of the encounter to put An Ghaeltacht 7 up after 21 minutes. It was 11 to 3 one minute later. An Emmet O Shea goal from a free brought Fossa within 5 after 27 minutes. An Ghaeltacht responded with a point before Brian Ó Beagalaoich notched yet another 2 pointer. An Ghaeltacht led by double scores at half-time; 0-14 to 1-4.






An Ghaletacht played well against the wind in the first 10 minutes of the second half, after which the 7 point gap remained. It was 0-15 to 1-5. Back to back David Clifford scores-a two pointer and a single-reduced the deficit to 4. It was 0-16 to 1-8 at the 3/4 stage, and 0-18 to 1-8 with ten minutes remaining. A David Clifford 2 pointer with 7 minutes to go made it a 4 point game at 0-18 to 1-11. A Ruaidhrí Ó Beagalaoich free extended the gap to 5 with 4 minutes to go and that closed out the scoring.
