Abbeydorney started stronger, opening up a 4 points to 1 advantage after 7 minutes. It was 6 to 1 after quarter of an hour. 4 successive points meant Kilmoyley moved to within 1 after 19 minutes. After Abbydorney pointed, Michael Slattery capitalised on a defensive error by Kilmoyley to put his side five clear at 1-7 to 0-5. Kilmoyley then registered back to back points. The returning Mossie O'Connor goaled 2 minutes out from half time to bring Kilmoyley level at 1-7 apiece. Oisin Maunsell put Abbeydorney back in front in the final minute of the period but Kilmoyley pointed to make it 1-8 all at the break.
After the sides swapped points early in the second half Michael Slattery netted for the second time as Abbeydorney opened up a 2-9 to 1-9 lead. It was 2-11 to 1-14 after 45 minutes. Abbeydorney rattled off the next 3 points before Michael Slattery completed his hat trick of goals in the 53rd minute. Abbeydorney now led 3-14 to 1-14. In added on time Michael Slattery goaled for the fourth time.
