Shane O'Flynn, who lives in Scartaglen, listened to Jerry's interview yesterday with Sean O'Sullivan who helped save his 24-year-old son, Sean Óg's life last Sunday because he knew how to perform CPR.
Shane's brother Kevin died at the age of 34 almost 10 years ago when he suffered a cardiac event similar to what Sean Óg went through.
Kevin was playing football at the time. Sadly, no one present knew how to perform CPR.
Shane is a volunteer with a charity called CRY, which gives support to families that are living with a cardiac diagnosis or who have lost a loved one in this way.
Shane told his story to Amber Galwey who also interviewed Stephen O'Flaherty who is community engagement officer with the National Ambulance Service and to Owen Brosnan who volunteers with the
Community First Responders in Killarney and who teaches CPR.
The photo shows Shane on the left with his late brother Kevin.
