Young people encouraged to sign up for Tralee Red Cross Youth Section

Young people in the county are being encouraged to sign up for the Tralee Red Cross Youth Section this winter, as a new recruitment drive gets underway.

The group is open to 12 to 17 year-olds, and parental consent is required required.

Youth Officer Elena Barry says a varied programme is offered, including an introduction to first aid and civic matters.

Highlights from last year included visits to emergency services, sea and cliff rescue training, and local clean-up projects.

Registration takes place this Friday at 7.30pm at the Red Cross base in in Killerisk Business Park Tralee, with limited places available.
