There is widespread shock across the county following a fatal crash in Ballymaceligott.
A man, aged in his 60s, died following a single vehicle collision in the Maglass East area at around 11.20 last night.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Fionnán Fitzgerald is from Ballymacelligott and says the community there, and across the county, is shocked and saddened.
Cllr Fitzgerald says the community has been sending him their messages of condolences and support for the family since early morning:
The local Gleann na Ginnte Road, where the accident occurred, has since reopened following an examination.
Gardaí are appealing for information, and are interested in speaking to those with dash-cam footage who travelled in the area between 11pm - 11:30pm.
