A wide range of festivals and events are taking place throughout Kerry this weekend.
In Fenit the St Brendan The Navigator Festival is underway and it’ll continue until Sunday.
The event celebrates the community and its maritime heritage; it includes nature-based activities and workshops as well as a guided walk along the Brendan Way.
Celebrations for World Fiddle Day will get underway in Scartaglen this evening; at 8pm there’ll be a concert in the Heritage Centre featuring Jackie Daly, Matt Cranitch and Paul De Grae.
The event celebrates the Sliabh Luachra fiddle tradition and tomorrow, on World Fiddle Day, there’ll be music sessions and classes, as well as the World Fiddle Day Recital hosted by Lisa O Sullivan at 2pm.
Fleadh Cheoil Chiarraí gets underway tomorrow in Barr na Sraide CCE, Cahersiveen and musicians, singers and dancers will compete over the weekend.
In Tralee the Food Festival will also get underway tomorrow. There’ll be street food, cooking demonstrations, tasting sessions and workshops during the event which runs until Sunday.
