West Kerry councillors will write to the HSE and Health Minister urging a minor injuries clinic be established in the area.
It follows a motion at the recent Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD meeting, by Fianna Fáil councillor Breandán Fitzgerald.
He says such a unit in West Kerry Community Hospital would help take pressure off UHK, and stop people from the area taking this journey.
Cllr Fitzgerald added he believes there should be a minor injuries clinic in each municipal district area.
The motion was seconded by Sinn Fein councillor, Robert Brosnan.
