The warning comes after two dead sea birds, washed up on beaches in Kerry and Galway, were found to have tested positive for bird flu.
Agriculture and Marine Minister Martin Heydon is also advising poultry farmers in Kerry, Clare and Galway, to take biosecurity measures to protect their flocks.
