Secondary school students in Kerry will be facing changes when they return to school including the possibility of video linking.

That’s according to Director of Schools with Kerry Education and Training Board, Ann O'Dwyer who says preparations for the return of school are continuing.

She says to ensure social distancing, if there are over 30 students in a classroom, some will have to be in a separate room connected via video link.

She also adds that they intend to conduct weekly reviews of how measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are going.

Meanwhile the principal of a Kerry primary school is urging parents not to panic pupils.

Rory D'Arcy of St Oliver's National School, Ballycasheen, Killarney says there’s going to be increases in case numbers as a result of schools reopening, but is advising people not to overreact.
