Valentia Coast Guard coordinated two separate rescues due to floodwaters following heavy rain.
Both incidents happened on the Macgillycuddy's Reeks today.
In the first incident, called in at around 1.50pm, a group of seven walkers got trapped in the Black Valley despite being close to the road.
To reach the road, they had to cross a river which Valentia Coast Guard described as being "in a torrent".
Kerry Mountain Rescue were unable to reach the trapped group so they requested the assistance of the Coast Guard rescue helicopter 115 from Shannon.
The seven hill walkers were airlifted to safety around 50 metres away and no medical assistance was required.
Three minutes after the Coast Guard received the first call from Kerry Mountain Rescue, a middle aged man contacted them for assistance.
He too had been trapped by rising river waters; this time descending from The Devil's Ladder in the Hag's Glen to Cronin's Yard.
A river, which is usually easily crossable, had also experienced a sudden flood.
The man was not familiar with the area and called for help.
Kerry Mountain Rescue went to assist him, but ultimately rescue helicopter 115 brought him to safety.
He did not need medical assistance either.
