Kerry County Council says it was an unforeseen staffing issue which led to toilets at one of the county’s busiest beaches being locked at the weekend.
Locals at Inch Beach said people were forced use the sand dunes as a toilet at the weekend, which was the busiest of the year so far.
Public toilets at the popular beach were closed at the weekend, although they were open at other beaches around Kerry.
