UHK says referral pathways for abortions are in place

University Hospital Kerry says referral pathways for abortions are in place.

Figures released by British public health showed 194 women from the Republic of Ireland travelled to the UK for abortions last year, with a small number giving Kerry addresses.

Even though abortion services commenced in January 2019, UHK currently does not provide the service.

The hospital says full medical termination of pregnancy under the legislation is provided at Cork University Maternity Hospital and there are referral pathways in place from University Hospital Kerry.
