Two minor accidents in Killarney affecting traffic

Traffic on the R569 Loo Bridge Kilgarvan to Kenmare Road is down to one lane of traffic following a road accident this afternoon.

A car went into the ditch just after the turn off at Loo Bridge, but no injuries are reported.

Gardaí are managing traffic in the area.

Meanwhile, the road between Kate Kearney’s cottage and the head of the Gap of Dunloe in Killarney remains closed following a single car accident this afternoon.

No one was injured in the accident.

Gardaí say specialist equipment is on its way to lift the car out of a steep drop.

The road is expected to be reopened in the next hour.
