A Tralee mother whose daughter who was over-medicated for years has thanked the whistleblower who exposed the Kerry CAMHS scandal.
Karen Ivers from Tralee believes if Dr Maya Sharma had not spoken out, patients and their families might still be in the dark.
The consultant psychiatrist exposed the over-medication and inappropriate treatment of patients at South Kerry CAMHS.

Hundreds of young people in Kerry’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) were found to have been harmed or put at risk of harm because of unsafe practices.
Dr Sharma's revelations also led to a review of services in North Kerry.
