Tralee hotelier Padraig McGillicuddy features in AIB’s new series Stories of Brave.
The owner of Ballygarry House Hotel and Spa is one of the bank’s business customers whose stories are being highlighted online, showing how they’ve grown their business and navigated it through obstacles and economic shocks.
Padraig McGillicuddy is a third generation hotelier, having taken over from his father in 2003 at the age of 28.
His first challenge was managing debt the hotel had accrued; he succeeded and has turned Ballygarry House Hotel into one of the top internationally ranked hotels in Ireland, with 150 staff.
In the past 15 years, it’s trebled its footprint, doubled bedroom stock, and increased its lands from 10 to 100 acres.
