Tralee councillor reiterates calls for penalties on people using ambulances for frivolous reasons

A Tralee Councillor has reiterated calls for penalties for people who use the ambulance for frivolous reasons.

Fine Gael’s Angie Baily previously tabled a motion urging that those who mistreat the ambulance service be penalised.

The number of patients refusing to go to hospital has jumped by 30% since 2022.

In Kerry and Cork, call stops - whereby patients are treated at scene - have risen by 44% in the same period.
