Funding has been announced to support three new electric vehicle recharging hubs in Kerry.
It’s part of a national allocation of €8 million to support grants for recharging infrastructure at 53 selected sites across the country.
In total, it will provide 175 new individual charging points for electric vehicles, with eight of those in Kerry, set to be in place by the end of the year.
They will be at Fairtree Café outside Tralee on the N21 Castleisland road, and at Centra the Rock and Centra the Reeks in Killarney on the N22.
This latest announcement is part of a wider plan to build a reliable recharging network across the country, with a distance between recharging hubs of 60km or less.
