Swimming has been temporarily banned at Ballinskelligs beach due to high levels of bacteria.
Kerry County Council has said that recent water samples have shown high levels of bacteria, and swimming may cause illness.
The council has put advisory signs at the beach entrances, while red flags are in place by the lifeguards there and the blue flag has been lowered.
Kerry County Council says additional samples are being taken, and the situation will be reviewed later this week.
Updates will be posted on beaches.ie, and Kerry County Council has thanked people for their co-operation.
