A Kerry TD has called on the government to halt works on the N72 until a full assessment is done.
Independent deputy Danny Healy-Rae made the plea regarding the Fossa road project in the Dáil.
He claims busses in the area are forced to pull in their wing mirrors while driving along the route.
Deputy Healy-Rae told the Dáil chamber that similar is proposed on the N22 on the Cork side into Killarney.
The independent TD says locals are concerned about the value for money on the project and urged for a review to be carried out.
