The Taoiseach has apologised to survivors of institutional abuse.
Mícheál Martin gave the apology in the Dáil after meeting with a group of survivors, some of whom were in reform and industrial schools in Kerry.
The four had taken part in a 51-day hunger strike outside Leinster House late last year.
They had campaigned for improved supports for survivors.
The Taoiseach said there will be further improvements to services for survivors of institutional abuse.
These will include strengthened access to health and counselling services.
The Government has also approved expanding the education support payments scheme.
Mícheál Martin said the Government has progressed measures to ensure survivors are prioritised for social housing needs.
