The first count is currently underway for the Kerry constituency presidential election vote.
First preference votes are currently being separated at the Killarney Sports and Leisure Centre
Tallies have been completed with the following results according to the Catherine Connolly campaign team in Kerry.
- Independent Catherine Connolly, at 62.99%,
- Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys, at 29.51%
- while tallies for withdrawn Fianna Fáil candidate Jim Gavin, put him at 7.5%
According to the tallies, it's estimated that around 13% of the votes are spoiled votes, with official figures due in the next while.
Voter turnout for the county has been confirmed at 45%.
