SVP Tralee area president says more needed in Budget to reduce burden on families in poverty

The St Vincent de Paul area president for Tralee says more is needed to reduce the burden on families already in poverty or those at risk of poverty.

Sinead Donnelly says she would like to have seen targeted cost of living measures introduced in Budget 2026 aimed at combating inflation.

She says more working families and those who have never previously sought the society's help, are now reaching out for help.

Sinead Donnelly says families are going without the basics like food, just to pay their bills.

She says she expects calls to St Vincent de Paul to increase following today's budget announcement:
