St Vincent de Paul in Kerry experienced a significant surge in calls as a result of the fuel crisis.
That’s according to SVP’s South West Vice President, Richard Murphy.
He says people are stretched to the limit due to the ongoing energy and fuel crises.
Mr Murphy notes the increased demand for support has led the charity to seek new volunteers in Kerry, especially in Killarney.
He says there are currently 18 volunteers in the town and SVP is urgently seeking more to help with home calls.
