A status yellow wind warning will be in place for the county from 2 o'clock this afternoon.
The warning will be in place until 8 o'clock tonight, with Met Éireann warning of strong and gusty southwest winds.
People are advised that there is a risk of wave over topping, as well as loose debris including fallen trees and branches.
