St. John’s Theatre and Arts Centre has appointed a new artistic director and theatre manager.
Listowel native Elizabeth Stack has worked for several artistic and cultural organisations in the United States.
In a statement, the board said Ms Stack has held key leadership positions at the Celtic Junction Arts Centre in Minnesota, the American Irish Historical Society, and the Irish American Heritage Museum in Albany.
She was named the Kerry Association of New York’s Person of the Year 2026 for her contribution to the arts.
In her new role at St. John’s, Ms Stack will be responsible for expanding opportunities for theatre makers, musicians, writers, and visual artists.
She will work closely with local and visiting artists, community groups, and partner organisations to grow the theatre’s reach and deepen its cultural impact.
In a statement, Ms Stack said she performed at St. John’s as a teenager and later again with The Lartigue Theatre Company, and described her appointment as “a dream come true”.
Her tenure begins at the start of May.
