South Kerry will hold Ireland’s first official SpoGomi competition this weekend as part of the Climate Ceardaíocht Festival.
SpoGomi is a Japanese litter-picking game that's spreading in popularity worldwide.
Cahersiveen will make history as it hosts the nations first official regional competition this Sunday, which begins at the Old Barracks and runs from 11am until 1pm.
Teams of three will have one hour to gather as much litter as possible within a 1km radius, followed by a 20-minute sorting round - where accuracy earns extra points.
Game officials from Japan will oversee the competition and an international TV production company will film it.
