The opening of a judicial review on the South Kerry Greenway has focused on the decision by An Bord Pleanála to omit two sections of the route when granting planning permission.
Senior Counsel James Devlin has told Mr Justice Richard Humphreys what was granted by the board is not the project that the Environmental Impact Assessment or Natura Impact Statement relates to.
He claimed the implications of leaving out these sections has never been considered and the board didn't inform Kerry County Council of their plan to fragment the project.
Mr Devlin also raised concerns about the greenway finishing outside Caherciveen town and asked what are people using the greenway to do.
An Bord Pleanála and Kerry County Council are yet to respond in the judicial review, which is being heard virtually.
