Councillor wants future of Skelligs Chocolate to be safeguarded

A South Kerry councillor wants Údarás na Gaeltachta to help safeguard the future of Skelligs Chocolate in the Iveragh Gaeltacht.

Cllr Norma Moriarty was reacting to the news that an application has been made to the High Court to wind up the company.

Paddy McKillen Junior owns separate companies, one of which is the landlord of the building out of which Skellig Chocolate operates.

Cllr Moriarty says Skelligs Chocolate is a successful business with a successful brand and it's vital it continues:

It's business as usual at Skelligs Chocolate with orders continuing to be filled and wages paid.

The next court date on the matter is the 24th November.
