A South Kerry brewery has scooped two prestigious honours at the World Beer Awards.
McGill’s Brewery based just outside Waterville, founded and run by Radio Kerry’s Joe McGill, won awards for two different beers.
The brewery’s An Coireán Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout Batch was named the best wood-aged beer in the country, and won a gold medal.

That batch was aged in a cask which previously held a Spanish sherry, then was filled with a single malt by Fossa-based Irish Wayward Spirits, before McGill’s added its Puffin Island Imperial Stout.

The brewery’s Maude Delap Irish Red Ale won silver in the Pale Beer category.
