A high court bail application is "ready to go" for the man accused of murdering Michael Gaine
The update was provided by solicitor Pat Mann at the hearing of 54-year-old Michael Kelley this morning.
The American national appeared before Judge David Waters at Tralee District Court today.
Michael Kelley faces one charge; that he murdered Mike Gaine on a date between March 20th and 21st 2025 at Carrig, Kenmare.
Mr Kelley appeared in Tralee District Court this morning via video link from Cork Prison, for the state to give an update on the case.
The 54-year-old, wearing a grey jumper and red polo shirt, spoke to confirm his name and that he could see the court.
He stated he could hear the court “very well thank you” before saying good morning to his solicitor, Pat Mann.
Sergeant Chris Manton told the judge that the book of evidence is not yet available in the case and sought a further remand of two weeks.
Mr Mann consented to this, before advising the court that a high court bail application for Mr Kelley “is ready to go”.
Judge David Waters remanded the accused in continuing custody to appear before Tralee District Court again on May 20th.
