Six individuals and groups from Kerry were honoured at this year's Ocean Hero Awards.
Each year the Ocean Hero Awards highlight the contribution and dedication of Clean Coasts volunteers in caring for and protecting their coastal environment and heritage.
Presentation College Tralee and Tralee Tidy Towns, won in the Campaign Ambassador Category for their ongoing efforts in promoting the Think Before You Flush Campaign.
Banna Rescue, were shortlisted for the Community Champion (Business Award), while the Maharees Heritage and Conservation Group were shortlisted for both Group of the Year and the Nature Guardian Awards.
Meanwhile, Ballinskelligs Environmental Action Group were shortlisted for the Community Action Award, and Martha Farrell, was shortlisted for the Leadership Award.
As well as this, Sea Synergy was shortlisted for the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award.
As of 2025 there are over 2,500 Clean Coasts groups across Ireland with over 45,000 volunteers.
