Sinn Féin says the Government need to implement emergency payments for people with disabilities.
The party’s finance spokesperson, Pearse Doherty believes a €500 payment to each person in the state with a disability must be made immediately.
He is in Kerry to address a public meeting on the cost of living, which takes place at the Killarney Heights Hotel this evening (at 8PM).
Deputy Doherty rejects the Governments claim that time is needed to ensure targeted disability payments are made to those who need supports.
Figures show 22% of the Irish population, or over 1 million people, are living with a disability or long-term condition.
