One of America's most famous TV stars has paid a low-key visit to Ballybunion.
Actor Cynthia Nixon, best known for her role as Miranda in the hit series 'Sex and the City', visited friends Rena Blake and Lisa Fingleton at their home at The Barna Way.
The connection with the Ballybunion couple comes via Cynthia's wife, Christine Marinoni, who ran a cafe in New York with Rena for seven years.
Currently starring in HBO's 'The Gilded Age', Ms Nixon is a committed environmentalist, and was keen to help promote the first ever Ballybunion Bean Festival, which takes place on Saturday, August 16.
She dined out at Teach de Broc in Ballybunion on Friday and visited the Barna farm on Saturday, where Lisa Fingleton says her arrival caused quite a stir:
