Gardaí are advising motorists that the N69 into Tarbert from the Listowel side is closed due to a very serious road traffic collision.
Three units of the Listowel Fire Service, as well Gardaí and the National Ambulance Service are at the scene near Tieraclea.
Road users are asked to avoid the area and diversions are expected to remain in place for several hours.
