Last night Gardai confirmed that the matter found is partial human remains, and forensic searches are continuing on the farm today.
They say DNA analysis will be required to confirm if the remains are those of the missing Kenmare man. This process is expected to take some time.
Michael Gaine has been missing since March 21st, and the search was upgraded to a homocide investigation in April.
The homicide investigation, led by a Senior Investigating Officer and the Serious Crime Unit Kerry Garda Division is ongoing.
They are being supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI).
