RSA retained over €21,000 in fees for driving test no-shows in Kerry last year

The RSA collected over €21,000 in fees in Kerry for driving test no shows last year.

That's according to figures from the Road Safety Authority.

Meanwhile, the average waiting time for a driving test in Kerry is above than the national average.

Figures from the Road Safety Authority show that 252 drivers in Kerry failed to show up for their driving test throughout 2025.

Motorists pay the RSA €85 in advance to book a driving test, with this fee retained in the event of non-attendance.

It brings the total collected in Kerry for driving test no shows in 2025 to €21,420.

Meanwhile, the average waiting time for a driving test in the county has increased.

According to the RSA’s estimated waiting list, the average waiting time for a test in Tralee is 14 weeks.

In Killarney the average wait time for a driving test is 13 weeks.

The RSA says it remains committed to bringing the wait down to 10 weeks.
