The Road Safety Authority's free service to check child car seats are safe is back in Kerry this month, in conjunction with the Kerry County Childcare Committee.
According to RSA "Check it Fits" research, over half (54%) of child car seats checked in Ireland are incorrectly installed, with some estimates suggesting as many as 4 out of 5 are improperly fitted.
These errors include incorrect seat-belt routing, loose harnesses, or the seat not being properly secured to the vehicle.
The "Check it Fits" service is a free, nationwide, expert-led program that ensures child car seats are correctly and safely installed.
The service will be available at Aldi Killarney on February 17th, at Smyth's Toy's Manor West Tralee on the 18th, and Cahill's SuperValu Ballybunion on the 19th.
No booking is required, and technicians will be available for the checks from 10am to 5.30pm at each location.
