The CEO of the Rose of Tralee has admitted the festivals' change of location hasn't been well received.

It was announced earlier this year that the Rose of Tralee International Festival was moving from the traditional Dome set-up to MTU Kerry's sports academy.

Anthony O'Gara says while he acknowledges that people are apprehensive about the change of location, he says that everything will remain the same as years previous.

He says that the festival received negative publicity when it moved from the Brandon Hotel to the Rose Hotel however, once people saw the advantages of the move, it quickly became the place to be.

Mr O'Gara is hopeful people will accept the change when they see the new venue:

Meanwhile, the events programme for the Rose of Tralee launched today and features entertainment acts such as Mundy, Cliona Hagan, and Block Rockin’ Beats.
