The Dingle Marathon and Half Marathon take place tomorrow, with some disruptions to traffic.
Organisers are promising participants a unique experience on one of the most scenic races in the world.
Both the half marathon and full marathon start together from the marina in Dingle at 9am sharp, with all heading towards Ventry and on to Slea Head.
The full course then takes in views of the Blasket Islands along the way, on through Dún Chaoin and north to Ballyferriter and Gallarus, before moving south to finish in Dingle town.
The half marathon finishes near Dunquin by Kruger’s Pub, with complimentary buses to take participants to Dingle for the prize ceremony at 1pm.
Sections of the route along the R559 will be closed to traffic at various points throughout the day tomorrow.
The road from Strand Street to Milltown Cross in Dingle, will be closed between 8:30am to 9:15am for the start of each race, and again between 11am and 3pm for the end of the races.
From 8:45am to 10:30am, the road between Milltown or Steve Kelleher’s Cross, and Sayers Cross, will be closed.
The stretch between Sayer’s Cross and Kruger’s Cross will is then closed between 9:15am and 12:30pm.
The road from Márthain Cross to Dún Chaoin Cross is also closed from 9:15am to 12:30pm.
The stretch between Kruger’s Cross and Brick’s Cross will be closed from 10am to 1:30pm tomorrow.
