A representative of gardaí in Kerry says 30 to 40 more members are needed in the county to address the high on-duty injury rate in the division.
Figures, released at the weekend, show seven per cent (7%) of gardaí in Kerry were injured at work last year - putting it in the three worst-affected regions nationwide.
The injury rate ranged from two to seven per cent across the country.
25 officers in Kerry were injured on duty in 2025, 18 whom were assaulted.
