Over 6,300 properties in Kerry have been retrofitted since 2019.
That’s according to the SEAI’s National Retrofit Report 2024.
It shows last year a record number of homes in the county were retrofitted, at more than 2,000.
According the report, 6,315 properties in Kerry have been upgraded under the National Retrofit Plan.
596 upgrades were recorded in the county in 2019, this fell to 397 in 2020, before rising to 481 in 2021.
The figure jumped by 114% the following year, to 1,029; and rose by 75% in 2023, to 1,806.
Last year saw the highest number of homes in the county retrofitted, at 2,006.
The figures show a 43% increase in the Solar PV scheme in Kerry between 2023 and 2024, rising from 660 to 945.
13 "Community Energy" grants were issued in the county last year, a drop on the previous year (20).
In Kerry there was a year-on-year increase in retrofits under the "Better Energy Warmer Homes" (43%) scheme, and under the National Home Energy Upgrade scheme (146%).
Meanwhile, there were 775 "Better Energy Home" scheme grants in the county in 2024.
