Report shows almost 20% of households in Tralee had majority income from working age social welfare payments

Almost a fifth of households in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in 2022 had a majority income from working age social welfare payments.

That's according to figures from the Central Statistics Office, which show working age social welfare made up the majority of household income in 18% of homes in the area.

The figures show, Killarney LEA had the lowest proportion in the county, at 9.4%

Meanwhile, Listowel was the area where social welfare pension was the majority of household income, at 21%.

The Kenmare LEA (19.7%) and the Corca Dhuibhne local electoral area (18.4%) made up the top three in this category.
