The average rent in Kerry has doubled compared to the national average in the space of a year.
That’s according to the Daft Rental Price Report for the first quarter of 2025.
The figures show that rents in the county have also jumped by over 70% (72%) compared to pre-covid prices.
According to the report the average rent in Kerry in the first quarter of this year, was €1,514 per month.
This represents a 12.9% increase compared to the same period last year; which is above the national average, of 7.3%.
It’s also a 5% rise quarter-on-quarter in Kerry.
The latest index shows the average monthly rent for a one-bed apartment in the county is €978, up over 10% (10.4%) in the last year.
Rent for a two-bed home has risen by over 12% (12.3%) to €1,162 per month.
The average rent for a three-bed house has increased by almost 12% (11.6%) to €1,356.
The rental rate for a four-bed home in Kerry was over €1,500 (€1,558) per month, a 10.7% jump.
Meanwhile, the average monthly cost of renting a five-bed home in the county rose by over 19% (19.2%) to €1,655.
The report states that there were 275 properties available to rent across the entire province of Munster on Daft.ie at the start of May; a drop of almost 75% from the 2015-2019 average.
The figures also show the cost of renting a room in the province has increased by 2% in the year.
