There are renewed calls for safety measures at an accident blackspot off the main Kerry to Cork road.

There have been several collisions this year near the junction where the N22 Killarney to Cork road meets the R569 towards Kilgarvan by Loo Bridge.

Fine Gael councillor Teddy O’Sullivan Casey says he and other county councillors have raised this issue before.

He says Transport Infrastructure Ireland has made it clear it’s open to proposals on road safety measures from the council, on how to improve road safety at this junction.

Cllr O’Sullivan Casey says the next step is to get Kerry County Council’s engineers to draw up a plan, and try get the works prioritised.
