Redevelopment of St. Clare’s Convent ‘transformative’ for Kenmare

The redevelopment of St. Clare’s Convent in Kenmare will be transformative for the town.

That’s according to Independent Cllr Dan McCarthy, whose proposal was given unanimous support at the recent Kenmare Municipal District meeting.

The changes to the convent, which is located just outside the town, has been described as one of the biggest developments to Kenmare in many years.

Cllr Dan McCarthy thanked the Sisters of St.Clare, the Kenmare Family Resource Centre his fellow Kenmare MD councillors for their support.

The works will include an additional 125 parking spaces and a footbridge to the secondary school.

Cllr McCarthy said they are constantly crying out for parking spaces in Kenmare, and the works will solve a lot of problems with traffic congestion.
