Radio Kerry celebrates 35 years on air today.
The station was established by a group of business and community interests and began broadcasting on July 14th 1990.
Since that time the station has been named Local Radio Station of the year on 5 occasions and has won multiple awards across all areas of content.
In 2005 Radio Kerry completed the purchase of Shannonside/Northern Sound Radio which broadcasts to 5 counties in the Midlands and North East.
Radio Kerry runs a year long course in Journalism, Podcasting and Radio with Kerry College and runs concerts and the annual Kerry Wedding Show.
General Manager Fiona Stack thanked staff, listeners and advertisers for the support they have shown Radio Kerry and the role they have played in helping tell the story of Kerry over the last 35 years.
The station was opened in 1990 by the then Taoiseach Charlie Haughey who had a written special poem for the occasion.
